HAZEL CLASS
Mr Mordue
Week beginning Monday 12th July
Hello everyone,
Here are the resources for the this week for you to access remotely. Remember to send me any work by uploading to your portfolio on Class Dojo. You can upload documents or photographs of any work you do on paper too.
This is obviously our final week of school before the Summer holidays - we were still going to be keeping up with some lessons and finishing things off in class but make sure you have time to relax at home as we would normally be enjoying more 'down time' this week in school. Just do what you can!
Thank you.
Mr Mordue
Please click the link above to open up our Virtual Classroom. Once opened, you will be able to access our useful websites. To do so, just view the slide and click on the icons on the whiteboard. Thanks!
Maths
Below are the teaching videos that correspond to the lessons we will be doing each day in class, as well as worksheets and answer sheets. If you aren't able to print out the worksheets at home, you could always write your answers down on paper or in a jotter.
I have included a multiplication square below as this is always useful in Maths.
Monday
Reflection with coordinates worksheet
Tuesday
Wednesday
Kilometres and metres worksheet
Thursday
English
This week, we are completing our unit of writing based around the theme of 'Wizards'. We will be completing two tasks over the week - creating a persuasive leaflet for a Wizard School and creating a double page spread all about wizards! As an alternative, you could also do some research and create a PowerPoint presentation about wizards!
Monday and Tuesday
Wednesday and Thursday
Reading
Read your Accelerated Reader book this week if you have it at home. If not, reading a book of your own, even for 15 minutes each day, is always very useful to practise your reading fluency.
Reading comprehension
Read this week's text and then answer the questions. There are three different levels of text and questions which get slightly more challenging each time (from 1 star up to 3 stars). It is up to you which level you choose, but choose Level 2 or Level 3 if you would like more of a challenge! Answers are also included.
Reading comprehension - Marcus Rashford
RE
We have completed all of our lessons for our unit. As an optional extra, you could research a world religion (Sikhism, Judasim, Islam etc) and produce a PowerPoint or an information page all about that religion.
Wider curriculum
DT
We have completed our 'Biscuits' unit. Why not try to make some at home? Or, you could bake some cupcakes or anything else you like!
Geography
To finish our unit, we were going to complete a double page spread all about Fair Trade. The PowerPoint below should give you some ideas.
Science
To finish our unit, we were going to do a practical investigation to learn more about Sports Scientists. If it's not possible to do this at home, maybe you could do your own 'sports' themed investigation, similar to this idea. Computing
I have set some tasks (called 2Do's) which you can do at home on Purple Mash.
