Key information for Summer 1
Arrival and collection
Children can arrive into school between 8.45am - 9.00am each morning and our collection time is 3.10pm.
Bringing things in from home
The children should bring in a water bottle which they will take home each day as well as their packed lunch (if they do not receive a school lunch). They can also bring in their own hand gel if they wish. They do not need any other equipment such as pencil cases, stationary etc as they will have everything they need at their own desk.
PE days
Our PE days are Thursday and Friday. On these days, the children should come into school wearing their PE kit. They do not need to bring in their normal school uniform to get changed into, they will just stay in their PE kit all day. As the vast majority of our PE needs to take place outdoors, they should wear their normal PE t-shirt and a tracksuit/appropriate sports clothing that is suitable for all weathers.
Homework
The children will be given a new homework task every Friday, linked to our curriculum in school. They should return their homework book by a Wednesday.
Spellings
There will be a Spelling Test every Friday. These will be sent home on a Friday for your child to practice at home. The children will also have the opportunity during the week to practice and embed the spelling rules.
Reading
The children will take their Accelerated Reader book home every day. These should then come back into school the following day. They will have various opportunities throughout the week to read and share their books, both alone and with their peers. They are also expected to complete a test after completing each book.
Times tables
We also encourage the children to practice times tables using TT Rockstars.
