Key information for Spring 1

Arrival and collection

Children can arrive into school between 8.45am - 9.00am each morning and our collection time is 3.10pm.

Bringing things in from home

The children should bring in a water bottle which they will take home each day as well as their packed lunch (if they do not receive a school lunch). They can also bring in their own hand gel if they wish. They do not need any other equipment such as pencil cases, stationary etc as they will have everything they need at their own desk.

PE days

Our PE day is a Friday. On this day, the children should come into school wearing their PE kit. They do not need to bring in their normal school uniform to get changed into, they will just stay in their PE kit all day. As the vast majority of our PE needs to take place outdoors, they should wear their normal PE t-shirt and a tracksuit/appropriate sports clothing that is suitable for all weather.

Swimming will also take place on a Thursday. Please send your child with a swimming costume/trunks, a towel and a hat. They can also bring goggles if they would like.

Homework

The children will be asked to work on some Topic-based tasks every other week which will be in a grid format on a sheet for them to take home. Please see the link below for Topic Homework for Spring 1. We will also send home a Homework book with a Maths and an English task every other week.

Spellings

There will be a Spelling Test every Friday. These will be sent home via Class Dojo. The children will also have the opportunity during the week to practice and embed the spelling rules.

Reading

The children will take their Accelerated Reader book home (with their Reading Record book) every day. These should then come back into school every day.

Times tables

We also encourage the children to practice times tables using TT Rockstars.
